A few posts back I had talked about my current relationship with music, and in re-reading it, it was not good. It sounds like music had become a commodity in my life, an done which I had preemptively decided I could do without.
After an initial foray into indie music through Bandcamp, I can say that this was premature, and categorically false.
So I am planning on having this new “series” currently called “My Music” which will focus on the music I grew up with, loved, and which I am discovering now. Why? Hell, why not, I guess. If nothing else it’ll allow me to have a pocket-topic to talk about, and it will get me listening to music at a time when I maintain that music is relegated to background noise in my life…a fact which pains me greatly.
So there you go. Shorted post you’ll ever read on this blog, which conserves words for later, much lengthier posts to come.
Something you should be aware of, though: I am not an audiophile. I do not speak of bitrates or tonality. Back in my Youth I fucked around with bass guitar, but I am certainly not a musician, and I do not speak from a technical perspective. All of my reactions and upcoming posts are straight from the gut and are entirely personal. If you know me, you’ll either identify with me or find me completely alien; with that in mind, the posts in this series may be recommendations or warnings, or something in between.
